Gods always behave like the people who make them.~~~~~Love makes your soul crawl out from its hiding place.~~~~~The present was an egg laid by the past that had the future inside its shell.~~~~~~No matter how far a person can go the horizon is still way beyond you.~~~~~When one is too old for love, one finds great comfort in good dinners.~~~~~

psydoctor8:

How would you feel if your widowed mother started a new sexual relationship? Your reaction may combine concern and worry with relief.

But what if your mother had Alzheimer’s disease and was living in a care home?

However, with the predicted increase in the number of people with dementia, and with two-thirds of care home residents having a form of dementia, we can no longer ignore this issue.

(…) Regardless of age, individuals require companionship, intimacy and love, and yet for older people this intrinsic right is often denied, ignored or stigmatised. The evidence suggests that light forms of expression such as holding hands, stroking, or kissing by people with dementia is widely considered acceptable in care homes. However, any further form of sexual expression is met with concern at best, and outrage and shock at worst. Via from @rcpsych

We’ll ignore it until someone gets sued over here.

Quote 6 Mar 16 notes
The harsh message of existentialism is that you can yearn as much as you like, but what you’re yearning for ain’t there. Life can have meaning solely in the here and now, but no one can guarantee that you’ll succeed in creating it. Meaninglessness is a constant threat for everyone, philosopher or not.
